Belated Happy Fiesta to Clarinians, USA
October 6, 2007 by May T Mediano
The Clarinians USA celebrated their annual fiesta in Danville, CA. In honor of their patron St. Michael the Archangel’s feast day on September 29, 2007, a Holy Mass was officiated by the Rev. Lenuel Canizares. Together with the generous support of the hosts: Victor & Fe Lerias-Selor, Virgil & Betty Lerias, Delfin & Baby Lerias-Parco, Romy & Linda Lerias, Lily Lerias-Grajera, and the rest of the Lerias clan, the event generated funds to support the church of Clarin, Bohol and scholars from Clarin School of Fisheries. In behalf of the organization, with due credit to the hard work of Fe Selor & Betty Lerias in the preparation of the food and décor, the donation of the lechon by Norma Loquillano and Berto Sepe and to those who drove or flew in to attend the fiesta, THANK YOU very much for your dedication to the organization and support for the cause.
Clarin is a small town of Bohol located 62 km from Tagbilaran City. Its first USA celebration was in 1986 hosted by the late Celerina Mison in Baldwin Park, CA. The eventful gathering generated the annual observance of the Clarin fiesta every fourth Saturday of September, and thus the election of officers in 1987 to create a non-profit organization based on the support of Clarinians in the U.S. The president is Atty. Fernie Sanchez-Camacho who was also the former Mayor of the town and is married to the former Gemma Cabahug of Mandaue City.
