Despedida for Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo-Aragon

Philippine Consul General Mary Jo Bernard- Aragon whose tour of duty ended September 30, 2012 was warmly gathered by community leaders at the La Traviata Act II Restaurant in Long Beach, CA. The farewell dinner was an open invitation to friends and clients and some sizeable number of kababayans in South Bay who wanted to have the opportunity to say their goodbyes. She is going back to the Home Office in Manila. A key guest speaker for the evening was Robert Garcia, Vice Mayor of Long Beach, CA who gave an inspiring farewell speech regarding his deep personal relationships with the Filipino Americans in Long Beach, CA.
The ConGen Aragon and office of the Consulate General in Los Angeles has always been supportive of BisayaBulletin.com in their mission and vision to strengthen and promote Bisaya heritage and its project in suppoting the Dangpanan Project which is the formation and education of the street children of Cebu.
Much appreciation to the key organizer, Linda Nietes of Philippine Expressions Bookshop. She is an expert in planning and synchronizing everyone's schedule and has therefore made the cozy evening a success. Let's bid a fond farewell to Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo-Aragon. Cheers!
